10 Comic Book Characters That Deserve Their Own Major Video Game
5. Spawn
With over 300 issues, Spawn is the longest-running independent comic book series of all time.
Albert Simmons was a Lieutenant Colonel of the United States Marine Corps who then became a decorated member of the Secret Service and was later recruited by the CIA. After he was betrayed by the CIA director and his best friend, Simmons was sent to hell due to his life as an assassin.
After making a deal with the devil in order to see his wife one more time, Simmons becomes a Hellspawn, but lost most of his memories and must consume Necroplasm to stop himself from returning to Hell.
A Spawn game could focus on Simmons journey from being a servant of Hell to waging war against the forces of both Heaven and Hell. It could also focus on Simmons unlocking some of his forgotten memories and trying to remember who he was.
As for the gameplay itself, it would seriously benefit from taking a few notes from the most recent Doom games. Fast paced run and gun action, brutally gory executions and plenty of apocalyptic imagery would be the perfect formula to follow for a game about Spawn.
