6. Electro's Facial Scars Are His "Mask" - Marvel's Spider-Man

Here's a detail that seems obvious in retrospect, yet unless you're a big fan of the Spider-Man comics, you'll probably miss it completely.

Insomniac's Spider-Man of course features Electro as one of its secondary antagonists, and while you probably noticed that the villain has a scarring pattern across most of his face, you probably didn't catch what it represents.

The scars are actually a nod to Electro's more cartoonish appearance from the comics, where he wore a yellow, angular mask resembling bolts of electricity.

Given that Insomniac's Spider-Man is considerably more grounded and "realistic" than traditional comic lore, the developers decided to re-work Electro's mask into a physical aspect of his appearance.

Insomniac didn't come up with this all by themselves, though, clearly drawing inspiration from the revamped Electro design used in the comics since 2009's "The Gauntlet" arc.

Sensibly, though, the video game equivalent is a little more subtle, enough that many fans never even noticed what it was supposed to be.
