10 Completely Pointless Video Game Details (That Will Blow Your Mind)

3. Uncharted 4's Rocks Have Their Own Independent Physics

Although some other developers have started to challenge Naughty Dog as the biggest graphical powerhouses in town, very few have come close to matching the sheer level of detail that the acclaimed studio manage to pack into their releases.

Consequently, there are countless videos that have covered the ridiculous amount of tiny details that the studio included in their latest opus, Uncharted 4, but by far the most pointless little feature that the devs decided to work on was the way rocks moved.

While you can slide down certain contextual hills in Uncharted 4, the rocks that start crumbling around you all have their own physics systems. They aren't just an effect or one big texture, and if you decide to shoot them individually before you commit to a slide, you can watch them as they fall away and start sliding themselves.

It's a needless detail, but what's interesting is that it could be a leftover from an old prototype of the sequel, where shooting the environment (to make climbable bullet holes, for instance) was intended to be a much larger part of the experience.
