The above header is the title of a very controversial trophy available to earn in God Of War: Ascension, rewarded for brutally finishing off one of the Furies in graphic fashion. I already heavily dove into my feelings towards sexism and political correctness in video games so this entry will be kept short. In all honesty though, the reasoning is exactly the same: back in 2010 God of War 3 released with a trophy for taking a living Princess of Poseidon also with her breasts exposed - and lodging her into a gear that crushed her into mincemeat upon a door closing. I didnt see a single person upset; the games continued to push the envelope even further by handing out trophies for completing sex mini-games in every game. Unfortunately, in 2013 we have people like Anita Sarkeesian crusading against sexual content and anything that can even slightly be perceived as sexist in video games, despite clearly knowing nothing about anything. And equally unfortunately, other gamers and even journalists will fall under this spell that because a game isnt politically correct down to the button its somehow offensive and disrespectful. What really disappoints me is that had people done some research, theyd understand that the trophy title is a tongue in-cheek joke towards whats transpiring in the plot. Theres nothing offensive whatsoever about it.
