9. Ruining The Fun In Getting Excited

Did I miss something or was 2015 the year where getting excited and hyped for games was somehow no longer tolerable? That year's E3 wasn't necessarily medium-defining, but there was a heck of a lot of stuff worth getting excited for. Yet, the enduring attitude that came from it all was a jaded and overwhelmingly cynical voice that felt the need to decry the 'hype machine' and the people that got onboard with it - regressing into childish bewilderment at the prospect of gamers actually getting excited for the medium they adore so much. It's totally fine to approach a title cautiously out of the fear of overhyping it for yourself, but don't feel the need to push it onto others who want to actually enjoy the run-up to something.
