The amount of theories and speculation that preceded the release of BioShock Infinite could fill an entire article; the true identity of Songbird, Elizabeth's powers and what the "debt" could possibly mean, it was a creative output for every fan of the series to dissect everything they could. And while a few of the theories proved correct, it would be nigh impossible for someone to predict that Booker DeWitt and Zachary Comstock were the same man from alternate universes. It's a moment of pure dread when all the pieces click together and you finally realize that Booker and Comstock are the same, putting you through all the stages of denial. You can feel your heart start to sink and your mind being twisted around in a coil as you watch different versions of Elizabeth surround you, and the game takes its darkest turn yet to drown Booker. It leaves you feeling almost sick with grief, and yet it is an undeniably brilliant twist ending.
