10 Crazy Video Game Fan Theories That Predicted The Future
3. The Many Predictions Of Kratos' Adventures - God Of War
In 2017, a trailer for the new God of War game set in the world of Norse mythology was announced. As is typically the case in such situations, the internet was instantly flooded with hours-long analyses and fan theories trying to predict what the game was going to be about.
These days we know the full story and lore of Kratos' journey through Ragnarok, but looking back at this time of wild speculations, it's genuinely impressive how many predictions not only turned out to be true but also did so in the most accurate way possible.
From just a couple of minutes of a trailer, people were able to deduce that Kratos would have a deceased wife from Scandinavia, that his son's name was Atreus, and even some story elements that would show up in sequel, Ragnarok, such as the fact that Atreus was Loki and that he would eventually cause the collapse of Odin's court.
At the time, many of these predictions were considered far-fetched (for example, most people believed Atreus would actually turn out to be Odin, not Loki), but these days we can tell that they weren't far-fetched at all.
