When first entering the temple, the music has an ethereal but somewhat disquieting quality brought on by a subtly distorted soundscape. The soundtrack is telling us that something isn’t quite right, and – as players have discovered – it’s not.

By playing the music backwards players are met with a hidden message, and it’s a haunting one. Reversing the music reveals a sombre piano melody as a scared woman whispers about her deep feelings of depression and anxiety before bursting into tears.

Although it’s not conventionally scary, the effect is nevertheless downright chilling for completely different reasons.
