10 Criminally Overlooked Single Player Campaigns
3. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare
Call of Duty, it's a franchise that either gets you hyped to the max or makes you groan. This Activision series was the industry's undisputed king in the early 2010s, but as the franchise continued, fans grew fatigued, forcing the developers to work harder to maintain their attention.
So, they went to space... and everybody hated it.
The release of the first trailer for Infinite Warfare was met with frustration from consumers, even leading to it becoming the second most disliked YouTube video at the time. But, if you check out the comments section of that video now, you'll find many people taking those dislikes back. The campaign has aged like a fine wine, leaving many changing their tune.
Infinite Warfare's campaign sees you fight for the solar system in an action-packed sci-fi adventure. The writing and acting are surprisingly solid as you take control of an American Marine named Reyes battling against the evil Settlement Defense Front, led by Game of Thrones' own Kit Harrington. Additionally, the space combat is pretty darn fun, giving you plenty of things to do such as hacking, piloting spacecrafts, and even optional side missions.
Sometimes a series' overhype and exposure leaves you acting as a harsher critic than usual. It's worth picking this one up again just to see how you feel about it now.
