10 Criminally Underrated Video Game Sequels Nobody Played

7. Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix

Fear Effect was a strange game. While it was most notable for its generous helpings of digital nudity, beneath the scenes of pixelated skin was a surprisingly intriguing survival horror experience that tried to do something different from Resident Evil, as opposed to just copying it. Considering the problems it did have were easily fixable, it seemed to be the perfect candidate for a sequel. And sure enough, Fear Effect 2 was just the follow-up the series needed. By downplaying the somewhat annoying combat system and focusing more on the story and puzzle sequences, Fear Effect 2 perfectly plays upon the strengths of its predecessor. And yes, there is even more nudity in the sequel for those that couldn't get enough of it the first time around. Whether you never joined the cult following Fear Effect attracted or missed the sequel due to the fact it came out at the end of the PlayStation's lifecycle, now is the time to go back and experience Fear Effect 2's bizarre little universe.
