10 Cruelly Overlooked 2013 Games You Probably Missed

10. Outlast

Outlast 1 Survival horror isn€™t exactly what it used to be these days. This isn€™t a gripe that archaic tank controls have gone extinct, but rather that every game deemed as horror recently feels the need to hand you a massive artillery with piles of ammo. It€™s kind of hard to get freaked out when I can just blast the big bad monsters to kingdom come with powerful guns. Outlast is an independent experience that ultimately is a revival of classic survival horror. You have no weapons at all and must investigate a pitch black penitentiary full of disturbing happenings, with solely a camera. If a disfigured zombie reminiscent creature sees you and begins a harrowing chase sequence, it€™s either run or die. It€™s admittedly a rather short game lasting only around 3 hours, but it€™s perfectly paced and full of intense sequences built around a mysterious story that slowly unfolds. Survival horror aficionados absolutely have to check it out on Steam or when it inevitably launches on PlayStation Network, free for PlayStation Plus Members.
