10 Cult Classic Video Games That Need Remakes

9. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind

Calling an Elder Scrolls game a cult classic seems strange in 2021, however, before the series found mainstream success with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and prior entry Oblivion, it was barely known outside of role-playing game enthusiasts.

The third entry in the Elder Scrolls series, Morrowind, received critical acclaim and became a fan favourite for allowing players to traverse the entire map and take on any side-quest from the moment they stepped foot into the game-world.

Morrowind featured unprecedented freedom that the series has arguably failed to recapture. Unfortunately, while the game was a technical marvel in its day, it is now looking somewhat dated, to say the least.

Therefore, keeping the core experience intact while bringing the beloved RPG's visuals up to modern standards would make a lot of fans' dreams come true. So much so that a group of modders are working to bring Morrowind to life in the Skyrim engine.

Outside of Skyrim, which has been re-released on seemingly every modern platform at this point, Bethesda shows little interest in applying the same love to its older games on modern platforms, which is disappointing as some of these titles remain the most beloved in the entire series.
