10 Cut Video Game Levels You Won’t Believe Exist

1. Glitch City - Pokémon Red And Blue

Given Pokémon Red and Blue started off a game that has an almost mathematical collection of constants in each instalment - like the eight gym badges, the Elite Four, and the lone champion - it's surprising to learn that not everything was as predetermined as it appears from the outside.

For example, the games appear to have been designed with one extra city, which was eventually scrapped along the way. Said town would have existed between Pallet Town and Viridian City, possibly to act as a buffer between the first place you ever see, and the town that holds the final gym in the entire game.

Regardless of its purpose, the real mystery is how players worked out how to access it - because you can go to this place in any copy of the original games. It requires you to faff about in the Safari Zone more than any human would ever really want to, before surfing the memories of lurking in there away. If you do it right, you'll eventually be teleported back into the Safari Zone, which you can leave to find yourself in Glitch City.

Just... don't save there, if you value your game.
