Even after the sun sets on Arthur's story, the epilogue still has a handful of strangers for John Marston to come across before he encounters more colourful characters during his own quest for redemption.

One such character is writer Evelyn Miller (someone who gang leader Dutch greatly admired) in the midst of drafting a new manuscript.

After some poignant philosophical conversations with the writer that underline the game's themes of change and industrialisation Miller will decide to lock himself in his cabin in order to complete his book, refusing to eat until the job is done.

Despite delivering food at his door, the author is true to his word. On visiting his cabin in the last part of the mission, you'll find him dead at his desk in front of his completed manuscript, his final words being to burn his body when he's gone so he "can soar with the eagles".

Granting Miller his final request, John sets the cabin alight and watches it burn.

Although it's not the most disturbing part of the game, it nevertheless makes for a bittersweet end to Miller's own story.
