10 Delayed Video Games You Can Finally Play In 2016

Go on, admit it - you forgot No Man's Sky was even a thing, didn't you?

2015 might have pulled out all the stops to convince us the industry finally knew what it was doing with the likes of the PS4 and Xbox One, but amongst Fallout 4 unveiling and dropping within five months, there were constant announcements confirming that a handful of other high-profile titles wouldn't be making their initial launch dates. Not only that, games like No Man's Sky and The Last Guardian have been touted for release multiple times, only to get pushed back so much that it's all but killed their appeal. After all, hype is a double-edged sword, and whilst it's very much fun to pick apart announcements and ride the hype train with our tongues flapping out the window, once we've reached the destination and there's nothing to write home about, stymying up any kind of similar fervour over and over is nigh-on impossible. Still, with any luck 2016 will be a solid year in gaming's history's books, especially if the following reputable titles land and get the recognition they surely deserve.

10. The Legend Of Zelda

Talk about going from everything to nothing, the 'new Zelda' in Nintendo's Wii U lineup went from the most anticipated game on the console after its reveal in 2014... to barely a spec on the gaming horizon, simply because Nintendo said they were going back to the drawing board after the open-world template gave too many ideas they couldn't pass up. Such an announcement is as mysterious now as it was then, and being we've not seen a single blonde hair of the new Link since that initial footage (and the fact it looks like the NX is coming sooner rather than later), it's weird to think TLoZ is still penned in for a 2016 release. Stranger things have happened, and given the two years that Ninty have been working on this, it should be fully-formed and being tested for last minute bugs as you read this. The interesting part though? I'll wager it's not a Wii U exclusive at all - chances are this new Zelda will emerge as a launch title for whatever the NX turns into, even if that's through backwards compatibility as a Wii U title. You heard it here first.
