10 Dialogue Choices That Were Devastatingly Different From What Your Character Actually Said
10. "Shove Dijkstra Aside. Forcefully" - The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
One of the most infamously off-base dialogue choices from any game occurs in the brilliant The Witcher 3.
During the main story mission "Blindingly Obvious," while speaking with Dijkstra you're given the option to either make a deal with him in order to be let go, or simply shove him aside, forcefully, and go on your merry way.
Players who pick the latter option will then be treated to the sight of Geralt brutally punching Dijkstra to the ground, then grabbing his leg and breaking it.
It's a wildly disproportionate response to both the situation and the option the player selected, and doesn't in any way approximate a firm but reasonable shove.
Furthermore, this option ends up affecting the ending the player receives, largely for the worse, despite there being no clear indication that Geralt was about to unload an enthusiastic and excessive can of whoop ass on the guy.
