10 Disappointing Games That Tricked Us With Brilliant Trailers

8. Alice: Madness Returns

How on Earth could a sick twisted take on Alice in Wonderland fail? While the game does have some incredible moments, they get lost in a sea of disappointment. Wonderland was interesting but never reached the beautiful lengths of the trailer, and the games combat and enemies were extremely and painfully repetitive, so painful in fact that not even an appearance by the Cheshire Cat could make it any better. The ability to double jump is glorious, but it becomes frustrating when Alice can't grab ledges resulting in pointless and infuriating deaths, especially during the clunky platforming sections. Also the world is beautiful from a distance, particularly in terms of Alice's hair physics, but up close, the rigid textures on everything from the environment to the character animation leaves something to be desired. Ultimately what could have been an incredible game proposed by fantastic trailers turned out to be rather average, and the promise of a hauntingly beautiful game was never delivered upon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VR8wXsvUrBg
