10 Disappointing Games That Tricked Us With Brilliant Trailers
7. Duke Nukem Forever
The first Duke Nukem game rolled around all the way back in 1991 and the franchise became a cult classic after the releases of Duke Nukem II and Duke Nukem 3D. After teasing a new Duke Nukem game for years, the rights were finally passed on to Gearbox Software in 2010. Audiences were expecting a lot from the Borderlands developers and finally after months of delays the world was graced with Duke Nukem Forever in 2011, but sadly the world was also graced with what some declare the worst game ever made. Duke Nukem was panned by fans and critics alike, which wasn't helped by the ridiculous hype it attracted in its extended development. The trailer had everything one would expect from a Duke Nukem game; guns, gore, action, strippers, aliens, humour, and those oh-so-incredible one-liners from Duke himself, but unfortunately, the game itself was incredibly glitchy, the load times were awfully long, and despite what might feel like endless action the whole experience seems empty and boring leaving so much more to be desired. Few could have been expecting Duke Nukem Forever to be a game of the year contender but it should have been a lot better, which was implied irresistibly by the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVuuyRGB_BA
