10 Disturbing Video Game Characters We'll Never Forget

7. The Master - Fallout Series

A mutated, mangled and misshapen monster, the Master is a character whose appearance and motivations are equally disturbing.

His classic appearance a sinister fusion of multiple humans and mutants alike, and his voice a mechanical synthesis of digitised voice samples, the Master is no longer one distinct person.

Formerly, however, the Master was once Richard Moreau, resident of Vault 8 during the Great War.

Exiled from Vault 8 on suspicion of murdering a fellow vault dweller, Moreau set out to find a new shelter, eventually establishing himself as a Doctor at The Hub, some 400 miles away from his former sanctuary.

Later, upon being attacked by mutants on an expedition, Moreau - now know as Grey - fell into a vat of FEV (Forced Evolutionary Virus).

Able to pull himself free following a week long stint in this chemical bath, Doctor Grey was gone, replaced by the monstrous Master.

Now believing himself a perfect being, the Master tasked his minions with kidnapping humans upon whom to experiment, "dipping" them into the same FEV from which he himself was born.

Absorbing and merging with electronic systems as well as living organisms, the Master became a chimera; a truly evil hybrid of man, machine, and mutant alike.
