2. The Desert Outside Night City Is A Site Of A Ritualistic Suicide - Cyberpunk 2077
Night City from Cyberpunk 2077 is by no means a nice place, but just when you think you've seen it all with cyberpsychos and human farms, the game can also throw a mysterious cabal of cultists at you.
In the badlands south of Night City, there is a gruesome site filled with charred bodies lined up along some sort of a circle made out of wires.
The scene looks really grotesque, especially when you consider how far away it is from any form of civilization. However, this is only the beginning of the horror show you're about to experience.
Digging through the charred sacrifice circle, you can discover a datashard titled "The Children of the Ark - A Testament."
The shard reveals that the dead bodies are initiates of a mysterious suicide cult in Night City that recruits new members out of the shadows and convinces to kill themselves in hopes of escaping some kind of a super AI lurking behind the Blackwall security system, waiting for a chance to enslave or destroy humanity.
The cult's manifesto might sound like crazy talk, but given the game's lore, it's possible the cultists really discovered something they weren't supposed to and took the easy way out.
And now you have to live with the realization...
