10 Disturbing Video Game Secrets Hiding In Plain Sight
7. Horror House - Saints Row The Third
Saints Row The Third is as silly and lighthearted as a game about murdering, drug dealing, and gun-peddling criminals can be. Steelport is populated by goofy mascots, goth kid gangsters, and a maniacal cat scientist, so you don't expect things to get too serious.
And that's exactly why the horror house easter egg is so disturbing.
The old house north of the Mourning Wood Cemetery is known within the Saints Row community as the horror house.
Why? Because every two days between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. you can hear very loud and clear screams of someone getting tortured from the inside.
The easter egg is unlike anything in the comically exaggerated world of Saints Row. The screams sound absolutely genuine, and they even come complete with sounds of the victim struggling, breaking furniture, getting thrashed around, and generally having a terrible time.
The longer you listen to it, the more unsettling the noises become, especially when you consider they happen for hours on end every two days!
Maybe someone should call the cops? Your character might be chopping criminals up with a chainsaw, but somehow they feel like the lesser threat here!
