10 Divisive Video Games You Either Love Or Hate

7. Online Games

Overwatch, Evolve, Battlefront, For Honor all have one thing in common. They are all pretty much multiplayer oriented experiences. (For Honor as a single player, but it's not the main focus). They all devote the entire game to online matches against other players and sometimes bots and thus make themselves some of the most divisive games out there.

For a lot of people, a forty pound game devoted entirely to an online set of game modes is a waste of money with little to no replayability. The idea that games that rely solely on multiplayer with little to no singleplayer experience can be seen as a blight on the gaming landscape.

However, online games cater to a specific type of person. The more competitive in nature who are open to playing the same game modes over and over again to become better and better at the game can find online only games to be a huge steal. It is down to preference, though people who dislike online games often do so with an avid passion seeing them as a trend that needs to end.

I like video games, writing and writing about video games. Expect sarcasm and the dry wit of a Brit. And the occasional rant of a unhappy Scot. You know... the usual.
