10 Dream Star Wars Games And Who Should Develop Them
7. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter II - Arkane Studios
Conceptually, the original Star Wars: Bounty Hunter was a great idea.
While I’m sure most fans would rather the game had focused on Boba Fett, rather than his lame dad Jango, being able to chase cowardly marks through the streets of Coruscant was a blast, even if it did come with a fair few flaws. Now that all Star Wars tie-ins seem to be inextricably linked to the Original Trilogy by law, it’s the perfect time for a series revival, a proper bounty hunting game starring any one of the murderous mercenaries from Empire Strikes Back, or even a completely new character.
Besides, countless games have improved upon and perfected bounty hunting gameplay since Star Wars: Bounty Hunter was released on PS2, and the highly anticipated Star Wars: 1313 was rumoured to have been a spiritual sequel to the game, so it’s not like people are averse to the concept.
Arkane (Dishonored) are the best choice for a Bounty Hunter sequel, since they excel at blending action and stealth against murky underworld backdrops. Dishonored is all about using every trick, tool and ability at your disposal in order to knock off a high value target – just replace Dunwall with Coruscant and ‘Blink’ with a jetpack, and you’ve got a solid Bounty Hunter sequel on your hands.
