At once one of the most celebrated and controversial figures in the gaming world, Lara Croft is one of gaming's bonafide, all-time great heroines, memorable for being a kick-a** chick with excellent combat and athletic skills, and also one of the largest chests in the history of the medium. In the early Tomb Raider games, the graphical limitations only allowed for Lara to have a ridiculous blocky chest, causing her to be the butt of many jokes, even though most young boys were still clambering around for the much-coveted "nude Lara" cheat like it was the Fountain of Youth. To a non-gamer parent, Lara's physical presence wasn't exactly easy to explain: back in the mid-90s, it was hard to reconcile her peculiar triangular breasts to those not initiated with the technology, and if they happened to pass by when Lara made an orgasmic exertion noise, or dare I say when she died, they'd probably frown and question why they bought you a PlayStation in the first place. For all of the debates about her status as a feminist icon vs. being an object of young boys' fantasies, Lara at least backed it up in battle, and her most recent iteration for 2013's reboot has proven to be the most believable and brilliant one yet.
