10 Emotionally Intense Video Games You Need To Experience

3. The Last Of Us

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euZBjaYGWHE The Last of Us begins with a bang: the opening ten minutes in which Joel watches the city fall to ruin and his daughter loser her life is so gripping that players might feel like they're part of the introduction of a zombie movie. Afterwards, however, players have to live in the aftermath of the catastrophe. Joel has now gotten into the smuggling business, and he€™s tasked with protecting a young teenager named Ellie from both men and monsters - for some the line between them blurs. Seeing Joel and Ellie€™s relationship develop as they work together and trade quips is charming, and as a result the stakes feel appropriately high whenever one of them is in danger. The Last of Us is just as intense to play as it is to watch, as Joel and Ellie are not trained enough to run-and-gun; rather, they have to carefully assess their environment and sneak pass or stealthily kill enemies in order to make it through with minimal damage. The combination of the dangerous post-apocalyptic setting and the limited capabilities of Joel and Ellie create a game that's suspenseful throughout and often complemented with tear-jerking moments.
