10 Epic Video Games You Probably Never Finished

8. Thief II: The Metal Age

Thief II is not only one of the most important and well-made stealth games of all-time, it's also a game that has aged shockingly well. As such, many gamers find themselves still coming back to it today.

Of them, it's likely that many will never finish the game which is something of a testament to its brilliance... and a detriment. As fantastic as Thief II is, it's also incredibly long for this genre. If you make your way through the trial and error gameplay with reasonably few errors and a good sense of direction, you can easily put in 25-30 hours into it. Most, though, are looking at closer to twice that. A game of that length is usually very welcome, but the hardcore stealth nature of Thief II means you're going to spend a lot of that time playing the waiting game.

Thief II's impressive size isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does make it a lot more difficult to see the game through to completion.
