10 Epic Video Games You Probably Never Finished
4. Final Fantasy II
Do you ever notice how the second Final Fantasy game never seems to come up much when the series is talked about? There's a pretty good reason for that.
Like most of the Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy II offers a grand adventure for those wanting to explore it. Unlike many other Final Fantasy games, it's an adventure not really worth getting far into. Without the gameplay innovations and incredible stories of later Final Fantasy games; Final Fantasy II just feels so generic. Even worse, its leveling system attempted to innovate the genre by removing traditional leveling and instead just ended up being a fairly broken drag on the experience. Playing the game in its original form is particularly painful as the save anywhere function and gameplay additions of later ports are not present.
Final Fantasy II isn't the worst of the series, but it's in contention for the most boring.
