8. Sarevok Anchev - Baldur's Gate II

Sarevok Anchev is the main antagonist of the original Baldur's Gate. He is the son and champion of the god of murder, Bhaal, who seeks to dominate the world and bathe it in blood.

Well, that's about as evil as evil can get. However, those who have played Baldur's Gate II know that Sarevok has a different side to him, and if you tap into it, he actually transforms from a murder-obsessed warmonger to the savior of the world!

Yes, in Baldur's Gate II the original villain of the series gets to play the hero. Early in the story, your character has to resurrect Sarevok in order to learn vital information about the mage they're chasing, and in doing so they get to recruit him into their party.

From that point on you learn that his return to life has diluted his connection to his dark father, and you can use this to overcome his innate desire for bloodshed.

If you do a lot of good and support Sarevok in doing the same, at the end of the game, he will be able to fully overcome the influence of his unholy bloodline. He will become a paladin and change his life for the better.
