10 Exact Moments Sh*t Got Real In Great Video Games

8. Crash Bandicoot - Fumbling In The Dark

Dying Light Volatile
Naughty Dog

A level where time and light limitations are unfairly imposed, and finding every box becomes a lengthy chore. Fumbling In The Dark builds on the concept first proposed in Lights Out earlier in the game, where you need to keep pace with an illuminant Aku-Aku or risk abandonment in the stone corridors of a creepy castle and where floating platforms fall from beneath your feet and huge axes swing from the ceiling.

And somehow it's even more challenging.

If you desire to smash every box for that scrumptious gem or want any of the time trial relics, your playthroughs will become increasingly dark and panicked. You may end up getting lucky and finishing this one in the pitch black, but most of the time you'll be falling to your death.

This is a true challenge from start to finish, and while some may put The High Road on this list, at least you could see what you were bloody doing there.
