10 Exact Moments Sh*t Got Real In Great Video Games

7. Inside - Water Girl

Dying Light Volatile
Playdead

From the first minutes of Inside, when your nameless character scrambles through grey dilapidation and black forests, there is a sense of unease in this game. As faceless guards with flashlights begin to chase and shoot at you, and all manner of peculiarities begin to unfold resulting in a truly one of a kind experience.

The creepiness, and difficulty, spike in this stylistic platformer when you have to play the most intense game of Statues you can imagine, underwater, against a black cloud of a creature that wants to devour you before you can open the door to the next section. Essentially this is a timed puzzle but dressed up in a truly macabre manner, and will make you feel like you're gasping for air each time you inch closer to escape against this horrible mass.

James Allen hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
