Much like BioWare’s other RPGs, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a gigantic game in term of both ambition and scope.

With civil unrest growing across Thedas and a foreboding green portal appearing in the sky which unleashes demons into the world, it’s up to the Inquisitor to bring peace to the land and build a force strong enough to face whatever lies behind the mysterious tear.

Not long after newly forged Inquisition begins to find its feet, however, their forces are all but decimated by antagonist Corypheus.

Barely escaping, the survivors are left defeated and disheartened with no plan for how to proceed. It’s at this point while discussing the situation with Mother Giselle where she begins to sing a hymn titled “The Dawn Will Come”.

More voices are gradually added to the tranquil melody until the song envelopes the entire camp. The hymn a sobering reflection of the hardships these people have just been through. However, as the voices reach a unified crescendo and the singers look towards the Inquisitor for guidance, their voices are transformed into a symbol for hope.

And in that small but inescapably powerful sequence, Inquisition captured our hearts while we wept away our tears.
