10 Exact Moments Video Game Villains Became Obsessed With You
8. Stealing The Anchor - Dragon Age: Inquisition
The infamous opening screen of Dragon Age: Inquisition shows the temple of sacred ashes going up in smoke and taking a lot of innocent people with it, leaving only your character sporting a nifty mark on your right hand called the Anchor. As you can imagine, this is not how things were supposed to go.
See, you have the anchor because your character happened upon the true villain, Corypheus, using the Magical MacGuffin to suck the life out of The Divine (the equivalent of the pope in Dragon Age's universe).
The Divine knocked the MacGuffin out of Corypheus' hand, sending it into yours, granting you three things, in order: the anchor, the ability to survive mountain-shattering explosions, and the ire of one of the most powerful mages in the history of the world.
Corypheus becomes obsessed with the Inquisitor after this moment, as obviously, they are the most non-negotiable roadblock in his bid for world conquest.
