Though there are harder missions in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, those missions - such as the agonising RC Zero mission "Supply Lines" - are optional, whereas the story mission "Wrong Side of the Tracks" is not.

The mission seems relatively simple on paper - get on a motorcycle with Big Smoke and chase a train, allowing Big Smoke to shoot up the gang members onboard.

However, it's a much trickier task than that due to the targets being stood atop the train, making it difficult for Smoke to land any shots - not to mention the moving target factor.

As such, just about everybody failed the mission countless times, resulting in them hearing Big Smoke berate them with the one-liner that has since become a meme, "All we had to do was follow the damn train, CJ!"

The irony, of course, is that following the damn train is just part of what you need to do - to make life easier, you need to find higher ground that allows Big Smoke to get his shots in, though this is neither obvious nor easy to pull off.

For many players, it was enough of a pain in the arse to swear the story off entirely and just focus on all the sandbox carnage.
