10 Exciting 2017 Video Games Nobody Is Talking About

1. Nier Automata

A sequel of the financially-unsuccessful Nier, Nier Automata offers players over-the-top combat in a greatly unique setting. Players control the characters 2B and 9S (they are both androids) who are helping to clear out mechanical threats for the local Resistance. However, once the two witness something unlike anything they'd ever seen, the story takes a turn and maintains a great level of intrigue across the entire campaign.

Developed by the PlatinumGames and published by Square Enix, Nier Automata is an action-RPG that incorporates intense combat and well-designed puzzles throughout its open world setting. With the combat feeling like a mix of Metal Gear Rising, Bayonetta, and the indie game Furi, there's plenty to like about each combat encounter. Released March 7th for PS4 and March 17th for PC, Nier Automata has received critical acclaim for its interesting world, excellent combat, and entertaining open world activities.

Unfortunately, even with plenty of critical praise, NA hasn't had the financial success that it deserves due to the extremely crowded time of its release. Releasing a week after PS4-exclusive Horizon Zero Dawn, four days after LOZ: Breath of the Wild, and two weeks prior to a big name title like Mass Effect: Andromeda, Square Enix didn't really give Nier Automata a chance to succeed.

It's placement on this list is mostly to spread awareness for this excellent game and let players know that if this kind of gameplay interests you, then Nier Automata certainly deserves your purchase. Go out and support this game before it becomes another game unable to get a sequel due to poor sales, as there are enough of those already.
