2. The Technomancer

With the release of The Technomancer imminent, this is perhaps the entry you're most likely to have heard of by now. It's probably still going to be considered a sleeper hit, though. It's definitely an under-promoted game that you should be getting excited about.

The Technomancer takes the conflict-ridden set-up of games like Mass Effect and Deus Ex and combines it with the melee-focused RPG combat of the likes of Dragon Age. Players fill the shoes of a rookie Technomancer forced on the run as he is hunted by secret police. The protagonist's abilities and a group of companions will have to guide his journey in the midst of a conflict around sparse supplies of water, and a free-flowing approach to established genre conventions set this game apart nicely.

For example, The Technomancer will feature multiple combat styles that players can choose from but, unlike in many similar titles, these are not fixed in character progression trees. The combat styles can all be customised and enhanced, but all remain freely changeable depending on what the situation demands.
