2. Sonic Lost World 25 Extra Lives
This entry is by far the most pathetic and lazy we've come across. And no, you haven't misread something, as this is not an overly-extravagant bonus. It's not even a physical, tangible gift. Sadly Sega appear a second time on this list, this time opting to give gamers extra lives as a reward for pre-ordering the game. If you did order this game on Amazon we would be fascinated to hear how you found this bonus impacted on your gameplay experience. Because the way we see it, giving a player 25 extra lives is kind of like saying "we'll make it twice as easy", which just sounds like bad news. An easy game is a game you'll beat - and tire of - faster; it's also a game with little challenge, which usually means it isn't much fun to play. Sonic Lost World was a fairly forgettable entry into the franchise (as has been the console it was played on; the Wii U). It doesn't make sense for Sega to take any risk that could lessen gameplay with a franchise that has consistently disappointed over the past decade. I guess this was just a truly misjudged marketing decision.
