10 Fan-Made Video Game Remakes That Were Better Than The Original
2. Mushroom Kingdom Fusion
What would happen if you took the most popular video game characters and franchises of the past twenty years, threw them all into one game, and it all miraculously worked? The answer is a Frankenstein's monster of a single-player side-scrolling game called Mushroom Kingdom Fusion. Or if you want it in far simpler terms, the wet dream of every gamer who grew up in the 1990's. The developers went completely crazy trying to squeeze in as much stuff they could into this project, as literally every video game character and setting you can think of makes an appearance. From Nintendo staples such as Mario, Link, and Kirby, to old-school shooters such as Wolfenstein, Doom, Halo, and Duke Nukem, Sega mascots such as Sonic and Tails, and even other random franchises including the likes of Mega Man, Ghosts n' Goblins, Ninja Gaiden, and the Lufia series. There is no way to describe how crazily awesome this remake is, so here's just some of the stuff you can get up to. Mario donning a Mega-Man suit whilst fighting off goblins, Sonic wielding a laser gun and shooting down Pig Cops, Link taking on the CyberDemon in hell, Kirby going head to head with a cacodemon - oh, and Wario channelling his inner Ninja Gaiden whilst taking on the Covenant. Yeah. That's way too much awesome in one game.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
