10 Pathetic Video Game Baddies You Should Feel Bad For Killing

6. Moblins - The Zelda Series

You'd think that any baddie that has such a presence in any game series must have something that makes them durable and worthy of longevity, and the Moblins in the Zelda games have been around as long as Zelda has looked a little bit like a girl. From the earliest Zelda games, Moblins hung around the forest, looking like bulldogs (though they would later look more like warthogs) mostly armed with spears (though sometimes with other weapons) though they might as well have been waving flowers, so inept were they. Early on, it became clear that Moblins couldn't really kill Link unless you really weren't paying attention, since his shield was enough to deflect their enraged spear attacks, and even up to Ocarina Of Time, they were almost comically simple to kill, thanks to the incriminating war-cry that preceded every attack (with more than enough time for Link to dodge and counter.) On reflection, Moblins are probably a little bit remedial, given their behaviour, so killing them was probably a bit mean, especially when it wasn't really clear what their motivation was. Perhaps they just weren't able to socially express their desire to be Link's friends...?
