10 Features The PS5 Desperately Needs
1. A Modular DualSense Controller For Accessibility
The PS5's DualSense is an undeniable marvel of engineering and design, a literally game-changing controller for racing games like Dirt 5 and WRC 9, and also for shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War.
And while Sony does include a number of accessibility options for players to tailor the controller's haptic feedback and adaptive trigger sensations to their own needs, it's a simple fact that the PS5 needs to offer much more than this.
More than two years ago, Microsoft released the Xbox Adaptive Controller, a modular controller designed to help those with physical barriers to traditional gaming still get the most out of their video games.
Reviews were almost universally positive, with many lauding Microsoft for catering to a large subset of the gaming community so often ignored.
Sadly, though, this is another area where Sony lags fiercely behind, with disabled players in the PlayStation ecosystem typically having to rely on custom-built modifications rather than anything official.
Though Sony claims to be listening to feedback on the DualSense from disabled gamers, the company shouldn't be dragging its feet on an adaptive controller when their competition did it so long ago.
