6. Outback Sandstorms - Mad Max
If you thought that the sandstorms in Spec Ops were bad, 2015's Mad Max game has gone that one further just to really mess with you.
Not content with kicking up massive piles of nitty, gritty sand in your face, the harsh storms of the wasteland throw all manner of environmental hazards your way too.
Lightning strikes, wayward pieces of metal and other materials can batter your Magnum Opus into a state of ruin, or Max himself if you're unlucky enough to be on foot during one of them.
They do, however, carry a nice little risk/reward mechanic, if you're brave enough. Scrap being the currency in this world, every now and then, large crates will appear for you to drag to safety and reap the reward.
Not much has been said about the before time, or where these storms come from or what causes them, but if you hear your mechanic warning you to take cover: listen to him.
