10 Ferocious Video Game Storms You Won't Survive

5. Metallic Archaea - Metal Gear Solid V

It wouldn't be a Metal Gear Solid game without it going one further.

Borne of a blend of metals and microbes originally for the use of cleaning up irradiated areas, the archaea have been subverted by Skullface (he has a skull for a face, see) in his world-dominating plans. From controlling Sahelanthraopus and corrupting metals, it's the usage by the elite Skulls unit that causes the most trouble.

Looking like reanimated corpses on their way to an S&M party, it's always a clear sign there's trouble ahead when you see these "storms" rolling in. Combining the looks of a sandstorm and firefly jamboree, you know you're going to be in for a battle ahead.

Boasting all manner of abilities from active camouflage to almost impervious armour, the Skulls are not an easy unit to take out. That, and being able to revive fallen enemies as violent drones doesn't help either.

We've come to expect nothing less from Kojima when it comes to inventive boss designs, with MGSV showing how far he'll take his creativity. The madman.
