10 Final Bosses That Made You Give Up Entirely

You've seen enough of the game to call it quits, right?

In the gaming world, the final boss shouldn't just pose an almighty challenge, but compel players to utilise all the skills they've hopefully mastered up until that point. After spending countless hours completing side-quests, beating every enemy and upgrading to the max, it would be anti-climactic if the last enemy was a total pushover.

However, it's a different story altogether when the big bad is borderline unbeatable. If the antagonist uses cheap tactics, continuously heals, or flat-out cheats, rage-quitting seems like a pretty viable option. If the showdown goes on for hours, it can be hard to find the motivation to keep going.

Anyone who's ever picked up a controller should know how unbearably frustrating it is to be repeatedly killed by an unfair baddie. But being stonewalled by the final boss is more aggravating, considering the finish line is but a stone's throw away.

Since players know they're close to beating the game, they should be encouraged to keep trying until they emerge victorious.

But if they're up against an opponent who refuses to play by the rules, they just might throw in the towel.

10. Yaldabaoth - Persona 5

It can easily take up to a hundred hours to beat Persona 5, due to its immense campaign and countless side-missions. By the time Joker and his companions reach the final boss, Yaldabaoth, players will already be pretty exhausted and thus, will want this epic fight to be over as quickly as possible.

Unfortunately, this self-proclaimed god has no intention of going down without giving his all. While Joker's team try to focus their assault directly on Yaldabaoth, he'll routinely pull out weaponised appendages, each with their own distinctive attacks.

It's risky to hit every target simultaneously because Yaldabaoth's limbs will redirect certain moves towards the heroes. As a result, Joker's team will be incentivised to eliminate the arms before focusing on the glorified deity. But since Yaldabaoth can keep summoning more limbs, this strategy is counter-intuitive.

Also, this is a very long match, which means it's very easy to run out of SP, which is needed to perform the biggest Specials. Sadly, there's no outlet to gain SP prior to the final showdown. Unless Joker has plenty of SP-recovering items handy, this confrontation is sure to be unforgivable.
