10 Final Fantasy VII Moments We Can't Wait To See In The Remake

1. Aerith's Death

There have certainly been some memorable deaths in video game history, but I don't think many compare to Aerith being impaled by Sephiroth's sword at the end of the game's first disc.

Although Shinji Hashimoto has mentioned that there will be some things from the original that won't make it into the remake, I can't imagine Square would take out one of the most pivotal scenes in the entire game just to surprise people, as her death is one of the key motivating factors in Cloud trying to take out Sephiroth.

Not only was the moment important for Cloud, it played a part in hooking in players too as the game was no longer just about saving the world anymore. Sephiroth killed a character gamers had spent a substantial time learning about and building up so it made defeating him more personal.

At the time, the visuals looked fantastic and did a good job of making the player feel the impact of Aerith's death, but it could look so much better on the Unreal Engine 4 (which Square are rumoured to be using to develop the game) and with voice acting too, this seemingly perfect moment could be made even better

Did we miss out a key part that needs to be in the remake? Let us know in the comments section.
