10 Forgotten 90s Gaming Classics We Want To See Rebooted

1. Doom (1993)

How is it that we have had a Duke Nukem reboot and yet Id Software's classic FPS remains untouched? Perhaps it is a blessing when you look at the Duke reboot, but we can't let that hold us back. Doom was one of the first FPS's to ever hit consoles and remains an incredibly popular title which still crops up in any number of best games lists. The last Doom game released was Doom 3 which remains one of the last truly scary FPS's available, due to the fantastic use of lighting, sound effects and enemy design. Id Software are renowned for their graphical prowess, as evidenced by the gorgeous Rage, and this would only be enhanced further with the power of the next gen consoles behind it. The reboot would need to include some gameplay tweaks in addition to the graphical update as gamers expect something more than simply shoot, move, shoot, move; but with the vast number of FPS titles available nowadays, Id could take some of the best aspects of those games and mould the reboot into something truly spectacular. With Dead Space 3 and Fear 3 proving to be much more action oriented, the time has come for a truly terrifying shooter to emerge, and who better to provide that than the original kings of the FPS? Are there any games that you would like to see rebooted? Do you disagree and think these classics should be left well alone? Share your views in the comments section.
