10 Forgotten 90s Gaming Classics We Want To See Rebooted
2. Crash Bandicoot (1996)
We're sure we're not the only ones who believe that Crash Bandicoot really needs to make a comeback. Before introducing us to intrepid adventurer Nathan Drake, Naughty Dog created a somewhat less realistic, but similarly popular video game character with Crash Bandicoot. It was a huge success for the Playstation and looked set to become its answer to Sonic and Mario, until Naughty Dog jumped ship and the series took a serious downturn. So what better time to bring back everyone's favourite marsupial? The jungle setting would provide the opportunity for some eye popping levels and the gameplay could include a few tweaks to the already established formula, in order to keep it fresh. And besides, it's been a while since we have been treated to a video game character that didn't take itself too seriously and actually had a bit of attitude. With games becoming increasingly mature, especially in regards to Xbox and Playstation, it would be a breath of fresh air to see a genuinely fun, family-friendly game that didn't suck after a few hours. Perhaps it is a big ask to expect Naughty Dog to return to the franchise, especially considering the success of Uncharted and The Last Of Us; but with those games tying up the mature market, a new Crash Bandicoot, provided it was done right, could appeal to the younger fanbase and help ND achieve their goal of gaming world domination.
