10 Forgotten 90s Gaming Classics We Want To See Rebooted
9. Die Hard Trilogy (1996)
Die Hard Trilogy was a massive success when it was first released for the Playstation. Part of this was down to the fact that it was essentially three games in one package, but it also didn't hurt that two of the games were fantastic, and one of them (Die Hard 3) had a lot of potential. The popularity of the Die Hard movies (well, the first three at least) means that this would still attract a lot of attention in spite of the almost 20 year gap since Die Hard With A Vengeance. The original contained three different formats for each movie; with Die Hard played as a third person shooter, Die Hard 2 as a lightgun shooter and Die Hard With A Vengeance as a race-against-the-clock driving simulator. The potential for these three games on a next generation console would be outstanding. Die Hard could be played as a Gears Of War style shooter, with the power of the consoles meaning we could actually see old Brucie's vest getting gradually more muddy as the game progresses. If that thought doesn't excite you, then maybe next-gen isn't for you. Die Hard 2 could either retain the lightgun style or perhaps take a more conventional FPS route; either way it would be a perfect accompaniment to the first game, and finally, Die Hard With A Vengeance would be awesome as a GTA-style driving simulator in which you could aim for all the mimes in New York whilst trying to defuse bombs and solve riddles. How does that not sound awesome?
