10 Forgotten Gaming Characters Nintendo Needs To Revive

8. Geno

Geno_Attack Poor Geno, arguably one of Nintendo€™s most highly neglected characters, Geno is featured in only two Nintendo games, and he€™s only playable in one of them. Found in the Super Mario RPG, Geno is a star-being, sent to help restore order in Mario€™s world. After a bit of an initial kerfuffle, Geno hooks up with Mario and co. and decides to help him. Geno is a cult favorite and anytime a new Smash Brothers game is announced you can bet there are rumors of him joining the game's roaster. He left an impression on many gamers, so much so that there are fan campaigns devoted to getting him more recognition. Unfortunately, Geno has made so very few appearances due to licensing reasons; his copyright belongs to Square Enix. Square Enix and Nintendo are on decent terms, and given his fan base, it wouldn't hurt to revive him. He would naturally work well inside of any Mario game, although fans long for more Mario based RPGs, so ideally he would be featured again in one of those. That being said, he€™s a character in Mario€™s universe, so he would translate easily to a platformer as well. He doesn€™t necessarily need his own game, but some sort of major appearance would be a sight for many sore eyes.
