10 Forgotten Gaming Characters Nintendo Needs To Revive

5. Famicom Detective Club Protagonist

Famitan 2 Flyer This title may be familiar as you might recognize it from a trophy in Super Smash Brothers Melee. The Detective Club games were a pair of text-based adventure games never released in North America. Truth be told, I€™ve never played them, but they sound incredibly interesting, supposedly being fairly mature crime games for the Super Nintendo. It€™s easy how Nintendo could revive this one. The popularity of games like The Walking Dead, Heavy Rain and L.A. Noire have proven that the adventure game genre isn€™t dead, it just needs a bit of an update to appeal to modern gamers. Why not cash in on the trend by making another Detective Club game for the Wii-U, it€™s a natural fit for their control scheme. Modernize it and make it follow the gameplay mold set by a game like L.A. Noire. Critics always say Nintendo could use more mature titles and this could easily appeal to a decent audience if it was well written. Smash Brothers games are full of trophies for games not released in North America that always made me jealous, I€™d say it€™s about time to share some of that regionally exclusivity. While the protagonist of this series isn€™t the most notable or memorable, this is exactly what makes the game so perfect to revive. Another blank slate, he could fit in well within the modern adventure game mold. Your choices influence the gameplay and you could build the character as you progress!
