Over to Nintendo now for a look at their first ever home console. The “appropriately” named Color TV-Game 6. The "6" making it very clear that this was the first console. The "6" actually referred to the amount of variations of Light Tennis, aka just a Pong knock off, that was loaded onto the console. The TV-Game 6 was released in 1977 exclusively in Japan and sold over a million copies. Its sequel, aptly titled the Color TV-Game 15, was released just a week later to further the confusing titles.

This version of the TV-Game had 15 variants of Light Tennis, because if there’s one thing we all love, it’s more modifiers to a game that’s already basically perfect. The next version of the TV-Game was, you guessed it, the Color TV-Game Racing 112.

This console featured seven variations of a top-down racer legally distinct from Speed Racer. The 112, I’m sure you’re wondering, comes from the 16 difficulty settings for each variation, but that’s multiplication and I think that’s just cheating.
