10 Forgotten Pieces Of Gaming Tech

6. Nintendo Jaguar JN-100

Nintendo/Jaguar

Possibly the weirdest entry on this list and one so rare I had trouble actually researching it, the Jaguar JN-100 was a sewing machine that came bundled with a special Game Boy Color cable. It was released in 2000, but the only game that worked with the machine was released in 2001. The game was Mario Family and it contained 32 patterns that players could replicate using the sewing machine.

Considering the time and the technology being used, the system was rather impressive, allowing the players to change the colour of each individual component of the design, or possibly, using primitive editing tales, create your own. But as you can probably tell by the lack of a Switch compatible sewing machine this accessory didn’t exactly kick off. I suppose you have to ask yourself: could Nintendo make it succeed? I mean, it's a sewing machine, I don't know many people, let alone gamers, who know how or even like to sew. But maybe that's just me.

John Hinch hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
